Health and Safety

The Writech Group Safety Management System has been implemented to comply with legal and regulatory requirements and with the provision of the construction-specific Safe-T-Cert Scheme. It also incorporates the company Safety Statement which is a requirement under the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act 2005. It is policy of Writech to comply with the relevant Safety Health & Welfare at Work Legislation as a minimum, particularly the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005; the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007& 2012, (SI 299 of 2007 & SI 445 of 2012), the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.

The scope of the OHS system applies to all aspects of the company. The aim of the Writech Group is to maintain a Safety Management System to eliminate or minimise risks to employees and third parties who may be exposed to risks associated with the company’s activities. For all the work that needs to be carried out by Writech team, there is a procedure highlighting hazards encountered and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required. As result Writech has an excellent accident/incident statistics, this is reflected in low accident and incident rates and by the number of safety awards received by our employees from site main contractors. In addition, Writech is continuously improving the safety, health, and welfare of our workforce.

The company will, so far as reasonably practicable conducting all work activities in such a manner as to ensure the safety, health and welfare at work of our employees and to prevent any improper conduct likely to put the safety, health or welfare of our employees and others at risk Writech will provide such information, training and supervision needed for this purpose.

Writech has the maintenance of safety and health in the workplace as one of its declared objectives.  It is resolved that all the necessary measures shall be taken as far as is reasonably practicable to secure the safety, health, and welfare of all its employees in any workplace and to protect persons other than employees against the risk to their normal safety, health, and welfare which may arise from work activities.

It is the duty of every person employed or contracted by Writech to co-operate fully with management in carrying out duties necessary to achieve and maintain safe and healthy working conditions.


The Company has designated employees trained as QQI Level 5 Occupational First Aiders, including all installation foremen and some workshop and office employees. All First Aiders have access to a first aid kit and all Writech vehicles are equipped with first aid kits.
