THE ROLE
The Assembly General Operative will be based in our head office in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, reporting to the Assembly Team Leader. You will work as of part of a team that is responsible for the assembly of prefabricated valve sets and pumphouses that is used in our fire protection systems.

Hours: 42.5 hours per week
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Fluency in English is essential for this role
- Previous general operative experience is required
- Valid Manual Handling Certificate
- Excellent safety practices
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good attitude towards work colleagues
- Flexible regarding working hours and available for overtime when needed
- Some previous experience in installation of fire protection systems and pumphouses considered a distinct advantage.
- Ability to groove and thread different pipe sizes
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Forklift licence or previous experience.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- First Aid & or Fire Warden Certified.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fabrication and assembly of all mechanical components for pre-fabricated modular installations
- Testing of various alarm valve skids and modular pumphouses.
- Liaise with onsite Supervisors, Project Engineers, contractors, client Managers, etc. to ensure Client satisfaction is upheld and schedule of works is completed as per timelines.
- Cross department collaboration to ensure successful completion of tasks to the standards required.
- Develop and implement mechanical component checklists and pick lists in conjunction with Project Engineers and Designers.
- Provide support and guidance to Project Engineers and Designers on mechanical installation policies and procedures.
- Update and revise Company manuals, SOP’s, Work Instructions in a timely manner when required.
- Provide on the job coaching, mentoring and training on mechanical processes to colleagues when requested.
- Collaboration with Site Supervisors, Design, Engineering and Assembly Electrical teams to ensure job completion as per client specifications.
- Complete any training provided and be open to learning and continual improvement.
- Report all accidents, incidents or near misses immediately to your Direct Manager through the App.
- Complete daily timesheet in the Writech App.
- Submit positive/constructive feedback regularly into the Writech Feedback App.
- Wear the required PPE at all the times.
- Submit good catches or safety positive feedback regularly into the H&S Incident Reports section of the Feedback App.
- Keeping up to date on all current and future changes of regulations where relevant to the role and implement changes as part of operational excellence.
- Other adhoc requests as required by the business.
- Promote and maintain a positive HSEQ culture and safe work environment in conjunction with the Writech Health and Safety Statement
- Proactively engage in all quality initiatives while ensuring best practice standards are promoted and maintained.
- Ensure all written documentation is accurate, timely and legible, keeping all records up to date at all times.
