THE ROLE: Our head office is based in Salford, Manchester, however our installation crews attend sites across the UK, the UK and Europe. You will commence your position in the Manchester workshop for a training period (duration dependant on experience) and then will work on sites to carry out mechanical installation tasks – installing pipework, fittings etc. Travel allowance to site is provided by the company. There is a Pay Scale in place for this position which includes payment for travel to and from work in a company vehicle. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Champion Health and Safety: lead and drive safe work practices onsite
• Coordinate onsite resources including labour, materials and sub-contractors
• Manage a team of operatives to meet all project requirements and deadlines
• Ensure quality workmanship: drive quality standards in line with SOPs and work practices
• Ensure Installation documentation is completed correctly: Responsible for submitting progress drawings, testing records, site audits, RAMS, access and site permits

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent safety practices and must be comfortable working at heights.
• Must be willing to learn and flexible to stay away depending on site location.
• Flexible regarding working hours and available for overtime when needed.
• A relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
• Hold a valid CSCS and Manual Handling Ticket
• Good reporting skills
• Full clean Driving License

You will also assist in updating and revising drawings based on feedback from the Operations and Installation teams. • Design fire protection sprinkler systems for high-profile clients.
• Produce REVIT drawings for Electrical and Mechanical installation work.
• Ensure that standards are adhered to and that drawings produced are of the highest quality, all in accordance with Q.A. procedures.
• Creating Hydraulic Calculations using industry-approved software.
• Planning project programs/scheduling.
• Preparing submittals.
• Work closely with the Operations and Installation teams to communicate, problem solve and update drawings for all coordination and design issues.

• Maintenance and inspection of pump units and alarm valve arrangements onsite.
• Fault finding and installation of control wiring systems and panels.
• Stripping and overhauling of pumps and alarm valves.
• Fault finding and installation of pumps, engines, and motors.
• Filling out a report after each site visit on a Company iPad.
• Compiling detailed work orders for items requiring repair onsite.

• Full Drivers Licence for a minimum of 12 months

THE ROLE The Project Coordinator (PC) plays a critical role in supporting Writech’s fire protection projects by ensuring that every phase of delivery adheres to our internal quality management system, client-specific procedures, and regulatory standards. This role provides a structured, process-driven backbone to project execution enabling Project Engineers (PE), Project Leads (PL), and Construction Managers (CM) to focus on technical delivery while maintaining governance, documentation, and compliance. The PO ensures that project progress, risks, and deliverables are tracked accurately and reported in a timely manner, supporting Writech’s commitment to delivering industry-leading, compliant fire protection solutions.   Reporting to: Design Manager Hours: 37 Hours Per Week Days: Monday - Friday   ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

• 2+ years’ experience in project coordination, document control, or project administration within construction, MEP, or fire protection industries.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex, Procore).
• Understanding of construction workflows, commissioning processes, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills able to interface with project teams, clients, and external stakeholders professionally.
• Structured & Process-Driven: Ensures compliance and documentation are never an afterthought.
• Proactive Communicator: Flags issues early, keeps stakeholders aligned, and drives follow-up.
• Detail-Oriented: Maintains high accuracy across trackers and documentation.
• Collaborative: Supports engineers, leads, and managers without duplicating effort.

  DESIRABLE CRITERIA

• Knowledge of fire protection systems, standards, and terminology (BS EN, NFPA, IS standards).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and compliance audits.
• Experience with project scheduling software (MS Project) is an advantage.
• Training in lean project delivery, document control, or project governance frameworks.

  DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain master project trackers using our inhouse systems Frameworks (schedules, budgets, deliverables) and ensure updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
• Track critical milestones (design approvals, procurement dates, site installation phases, commissioning, and handover) against baseline schedule on TIDP.
• Provide weekly/monthly project dashboards summarizing progress, risks, and outstanding actions.
• Work closely with finance and PE’s to ensure monthly claims are accurate.
• Own the Commissioning trackers, project logs, and compliance checklists for each project.
• Conduct regular documentation audits to ensure readiness for client inspections, third-party audits, or handover.
• Ensure compliance with Writech’s Quality Management System (QMS), ISO standards, and client-specific governance requirements.
• Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and action logs for project meetings.
• Support PE/PL/CM with the preparation of client reports, progress updates, and contractual submissions.
• Ensure lessons learned from previous projects are captured and shared for continuous improvement.
• Up-to-date project trackers and dashboards accessible to project stakeholders.
• Organised documentation repositories (digital and physical) ready for audit, client review, or handover.
• Accurate risk and issue registers to support proactive decision-making.
